G5 Math
Section 1: 6/12 - 7/5
Section 2: 7/10 - 8/2
Mon & Wed
5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
The contents in June and July sessions are different. A review of June session contents will be included in the July session. Students can choose to attend either one or both sessions.
This course provides students an early-start preparation on the G5 Math Placement Test. The students will be instructed and given practice in basic algebraic calculation and problem-solving strategies of word problems. The curriculum is aligned with G5 Common Core standards in developing fluency with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions, decimals, and complicated operation questions. Our instructor will provide efficient methods for problem solutions. After-class practice and in-class quizzes will be assigned to monitor students' learning progress.
G4 Math
Section 1: 6/12 - 7/5
Section 2: 7/10 - 8/2
Mon & Wed
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
The contents in June and July sessions are different. A review of June session contents will be included in the July session. Students can choose to attend either one or both sessions.
This math course focuses on fully grasping the basic operations of math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Utilizing manipulative, the class will work to discover patterns. It will then aid in understanding the concepts of the basic algebraic operation which they will then apply to figure out the multi-digit problems. In addition, the course concentrates on the training of word problems, with practice and explanation. There will be daily math practice homework.
