Students may attend either or both classes.


This course is designed to not only supplement their English workload from school but also to further advance their close-reading & writing abilities.  We will be reading & writing, on average, between 2 - 3 non-fiction articles in class. Essay writing prompts will be given as homework to provide the appropriate rigor of the normal class workload.

Different types of writing include Descriptive Writing, Personal/Narrative Writing, Coherent Writing, Expository and Persuasive Writing. Additional homework will be assigned after each class.

Honor Physics

This is an introductory algebra-based physics course, an opportunity to gain an understanding of fundamental physical principles. Designed for students with an interest in discovering physics. Concepts covered are required for SAT Physics test and prerequisites for AP Physics.


Covered  Topics:

* Mechanics

* Projectile Motion

* Newton's Law

* Thermodynamics

* Waves, Lights and Optics

* Electricity and Magnetism

* Modern Physics


Class Prerequisites:

Knowledge of solving the equation/equations

with one or two variables. 

Completion of Algebra II is a plus.
